1. What Taase Me is

Taase Me provides short-term personal loans to approved members of a private network, sent and repaid through mobile money. It is not a bank, SACCO, or employer scheme, and it is not affiliated with your employer.

2. Who can join

Only phone numbers that have already been approved may sign up. Being approved does not guarantee you will be given a loan.

3. What each loan costs

Every loan costs 20% interest plus a fixed UGX 650 processing fee, added to the amount you borrow, repayable within 30 days of receiving it. For example, borrowing UGX 100,000 means repaying UGX 120,650. The exact amount for your loan is always shown to you, with the exact repayment date, before you confirm with an SMS code — never afterward.

4. How you confirm a loan

After you choose an amount and see the full cost, we send a one-time code to your phone by SMS. That code confirms only the exact amount and repayment terms you were just shown. Entering it means you agree to repay that amount by that date.

5. Repayment

You must repay the full amount by the due date shown. We will remind you by SMS and WhatsApp before and after the due date. A loan that is not repaid may reduce or remove your ability to borrow again, and may be followed up with your emergency contact and by other lawful means of recovery.

6. Your emergency contact

You give us one emergency contact's name and phone number. We may contact them only if we cannot reach you and your loan is seriously overdue, solely to help locate you or pass on a message about your loan.

7. What we collect

We collect your name, phone number, and your emergency contact's name and phone number. We do not ask for or store your salary, your employer, or why you need the loan.

8. Loan limits

How much you can borrow is worked out automatically and can change at any time, including down to zero — for example if you have a loan overdue, or if we don't have funds available to lend right now.

9. Messages

By signing up you agree to receive SMS and WhatsApp messages about your account, loans, payment reminders, and occasional offers to borrow again.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use Taase Me after a change means you accept the update. You can always view the current terms from this screen.
